About Us

The library was first set up in 1960 under the Rural and Industrial Development Authority (RIDA) in Petaling Jaya. In 1972 a new main library building was completed in Shah Alam and named Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak 1. To date the library collections totaled more than 600,500 volumes comprising books, pamphlets, conference papers, bibliographies, calendars and other non-print materials in microform format.
The library also holds about 5,000 periodical titles currently subscribed or received through request/donations. A number of more 50 online databases are subscribed from various journals.

In addition to the main library, there are eight other component libraries namely:

 Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak 2 (1986)
The library specialises in collection on Business and Law Collections besides providing reading and reference materials for the off campus and distance learning students.
 Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak 3 (2003)
The library specialises in collection on Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Materials available in the library are also focused on subjects offered by the Faculties.
 Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak 4 (2004)
The library specialises in collection on Medical, Pharmacy, Computer Science, Performing Arts and Sport Science. Materials available in the library are also focused on subjects offered by the Faculties.
 Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak, Faculty of Architecture, Planning & Surveying Library (1994)
The library is attached to the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying. Materials available in the library are also focused on subjects offered by the Faculty.
 Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak, Petaling Jaya (1967)
The library specialises in collection on Health Sciences besides providing reading and reference materials for the off campus and distance learning students.
 INTEC Section 17 Library in Shah Alam (1982)
The library specialises in collection on Education, A-Level Program and Music Collections besides providing reading and reference materials. The collection consists of materials on music, which includes books (text and scores), journals, CD on music (popular and classic) and cassettes. Services provided by the department includes the borrowing and returning of books and cassettes, reference service, music facilities such as listening to studio music, composing music in the MIDI studio and recording of cassettes/CD for academic purposes.
 Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak, Faculty of Information Technology & Quantitative Science Library (1997 –  2004)
The library is attached to the Faculty and specialises in collections closely related to the courses offered.
 Faculty of Information Studies, Puncak Perdana (2004)
The library specialises in collection on Information Management, Library Science, Record Management, and Reference Materials.
